Embarrassment took over Indigo Airlines after an incident related to its ‘poor’ service was shared on social media. A woman, Sagarika Patnaik, flying onboard an Indigo aeroplane from Pune to Nagpur, was left speechless and shocked after she reached her assigned seat. The flight seat had no cushion on it, which left the woman confused. On being asked about ‘seat’, the cabin crew asked her to check under the seat, where there was no cushion. The incident took place on Sunday, November 27. The woman was reportedly provided the cushion later. A picture of the same seat was also shared by the woman’s husband on social media, which soon went viral.
The picture was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the user 'Subrat Patnaik'. The post was captioned, “#Indigo !! #Flight 6E 6798 !! Seat no 10A ! Pune to Nagpur!!! Today’s status … Best way to increase profit …Pathetic.”

As soon as the incident was shared on social media, people were quick to react over the matter and made the post go viral. Most people chastised the airlines for their services and spoke on their safety and security concerns. The post was shared yesterday and pulled hundreds of views.
Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “Maybe it's a trial. Sooner or later Indigo may start charging 250-500 for cushions,” a user said. “This is just pathogenic. WQht is this airline so casual about their services,” commented a third viewer. “What a shameful service by Indigo airlines,” added a third person. “What did Indigo say about this? They should at least clarify,” said a fourth.
After the post went viral, it also came into the notice of the airline that responded to the viral post. “Hi, that's certainly not good to see. At times, the seat cushion gets adrift from its Velcro. The same can be repositioned with the help of our crew. Further, your feedback will be shared with the concerned team for review. Hope to serve you better in the future,” read Indigo’s reply.
