Despite women being one of the most vital pillars of humanity and society, they surely have suffered a lot. From societal pressures to impractical and uncomfortable expectations and from brutal violence against them to countless hurdles in every path that they take, a woman’s journey in today’s world is no less than a ‘life-draining’ task that many take with great strength and optimism. Amid such struggles, breaking stereotypes has become something important that women often do in order to eventually gain more freedom for themselves. However- everything has a limit and these limits hardly have anything to do with gender- at least in this particular case. A social media post is going viral, which showed a picture of a ‘Lucknow bride’ wearing a ‘Banarasi Bikini’ at her wedding ceremony. The post called the move an attempt to ‘break stereotypes’.

Needless to say, the post went viral and mostly pulled backlash. However, was the incident even real? Well, it turned out that the majority of netizens fell victim to a deepfake yet again! Reportedly, the post had an AI-generated image. There were a few more images showing many other brides wearing ‘bridal bikinis’ at weddings, which were shared on Reddit. The original post soon went viral, leaving people reacting.

The first post was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘indianshitposts’. The post read, “Lucknow bride breaks stereotypes by wearing Banarasi bikini in marriage ceremony. Internet splits into two halves.”

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “I know ai when I see one,” a user said. “This better be ai, ngl that's just bad. Please don't ruin something so beautiful,” added a second person. “Tf I thought this image was AI-generated. And turned out that I was correct," commented a third person.
