Pune Man Viral Video: Feeling stuck in his job despite working hard, a Pune man found a new way to move forward, and his story is now going viral. Rohit Yadav, who once felt frustrated seeing no career growth, shared a post called “Work habits that actually got me promoted.” He said, “A few years ago, I felt stuck. I was working hard, but it wasn’t translating into growth. That’s when I realised: doing good work isn’t enough. You need to be strategic about how you show it.” So, he changed his work style and slowly built four easy habits that helped him stand out and earn a promotion.

1. Weekly Wins: Every Friday, he would write down three things he achieved that week. Big or small, it helped him remember his progress and speak about it confidently during performance reviews.

2. Monthly Manager Updates: Once a month, he would send a short note to his manager listing what he worked on, what results he delivered, and what he learned. “No extra words. Just outcomes. And it made me visible without bragging,” he said.

3. Asking Smart Questions: During one-on-one meetings, he asked, “What do I need to improve to be seen as ready for the next level?” This gave him clear feedback and helped change how others saw him.

4. Speaking Up in Meetings: Even if it was just a small point, Rohit started talking more in meetings. “It built my presence. It showed initiative. Silent contributors are easily forgotten—I didn’t want to be one of them.”

His tips received a lot of attention online. Some people loved his practical ideas, while others felt that not every workplace supports such strategies.

The post shared on Instagram under the username 'rohitdecoded' five days ago pulled 6.7 million views from social media users. People were quick to react to the viral post. One user wrote, "I have tried some of your points, especially 2, never worked for me. I believe you need to have a supportive manager who actually listens and cares." "No, this is all wrong, all you need to get a promotion is 1) kisses boss’ a**, 2) compliment boss even when they’re wrong, 3) allow them to belittle u every now and then," a second user added.

"One of my colleagues shared one of the three things mentioned... The manager said Why are you sending these emails? What work you did is not that big and impacting that you have to do all this? This is your job. Don't show off. I don't think these days any manager cares that much... With effort and smart work, you will only get work. Nothing else. So take breaks.. go for a chai-sutta.. go out for a walk.. chill with teammates... At least we will have some memories," a third user wrote. "Not to mention the overly optimistic attitude on LinkedIn, it’ll get you places. Maybe not in this job, but definitely in your network," a fourth user added.

"Tried all of these.. None worked. I believe not everything works for everyone. Genuine support is required from a manager, not the pretentious one," added a fifth user. "Just shared this reel with my husband. He reacted with a laughing emoji when I asked he said abt the quantity of coffee to be consumed to get promoted, I am so dumb," added another user.
