Viral Video: A shocking video from Evanston, Illinois, has gone viral after a heated clash between a restaurant owner and a customer over a missing tip. The incident took place outside a restaurant named Table to Stix, where owner Kenny Chou lost his temper when a customer paid $20 for a $19.89 order but didn’t leave a tip.
Chou stormed out of his restaurant, chased the man down the street, and shouted, “You’re a piece of s**t” and “I’ll slap the s**t out of you,” demanding an 18% tip. The customer tried to reason with him, saying, “I paid for my food. I am not legally required to give you a f**king tip,” but Chou didn’t stop his aggressive rant.
As the video spread rapidly across social media, many people expressed shock at the owner's behaviour and began calling for a boycott of the restaurant. According to reports, after facing massive backlash, Chou later issued an apology. “It was a deeply regrettable moment where I… lost my composure,” he admitted, also telling CBS News Chicago, “I apologise to him and to his family.”

The viral video was shared on Instagram by the handle 'capital_gentlemen.' In the caption, the whole incident was explained, "Payed 20 dollars cash for a 17.00 meal tax with 19.89 and the owner follows me down the street while he harasses a homeless bodybuilder (Go Fund me has been in bio for the product/job creation for the pending bodybuilding cookbook), he was trying to force me into paying an 18% tip."
The video shared a while ago received 373k views from people. Many users were quick to react to the viral video. While many trolled the restaurant owner for forcing him to pay a tip, others joked about the same.
One user wrote, "Tips Are Suggestions, not required." "Respect for keeping your composure. Definitely mentally strong," a second user wrote. "Close your restaurant if you can’t afford to keep it open. Going this hard over $2 doesn’t make sense. This kind of hate and anger will block your blessings," added a third user. "Tipping isn’t required. It’s a courtesy. Pay ur staff more and they won’t need tips," a fourth user wrote.
"Tip revolt! No one tip ever again. I'm tired of this tip entitlement! Ppl act like it's mandatory to tip. Boycott these businesses, see how they like no business. How are you gonna get tips if you get no business?" added a fifth user. "Soooo instead of raising your prices and paying your staff reasonable wages, you proceed to rob your consumers in broad daylight. What's worse is there are people defending it," added another user. "This is why tipping culture is so stupid….. pay your employees properly and include the “tip” in the price of the food problem solved," wrote another person.
