Viral Video: Imagine driving peacefully when suddenly you see something slithering out of your car’s side mirror. That’s exactly what happened to a man in Tamil Nadu and the shocking moment was all caught on camera. A spine-chilling video that’s now going viral on social media shows a snake wriggling its way out of a car’s side mirror while the vehicle was moving on the Namakkal–Salem road. The sight left the driver horrified and also stunned the people around him. Bikers passing by were seen reacting in disbelief as the reptile made its unexpected appearance.

Soon after the clip gained attention, authorities and wildlife experts issued a safety alert for drivers. They urged motorists to carefully inspect their vehicles before driving, especially during the rainy season when snakes and other creatures often seek warmth and shelter inside parked cars.

“Safety Alert for Drivers! Shocking Incident on Namakkal–Salem Road: Snake Discovered Inside Car’s Side Mirror While Driving. As the cold and rainy season sets in, motorists are urged to be extra cautious before hitting the road. Always inspect your vehicle thoroughly especially under the bonnet, wheel arches, and side mirrors as snakes and other small creatures often seek warmth and shelter inside parked vehicles during this season. A recent incident on the Namakkal–Salem Road has raised serious concerns," the post read.

"A driver was shocked to discover a snake hidden inside his car’s side mirror while he was on the move. Fortunately, the driver managed to stop safely, but the situation could have turned dangerous. Authorities and wildlife experts are advising drivers to check their vehicles carefully before starting, particularly after long parking hours or in areas surrounded by vegetation. Stay alert, stay safe, a few minutes of precaution can prevent a major scare or accident,” the post further read.

The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘karnatakaportf’, has already gained over 1 million views. Many users called the incident terrifying, while some even shared how similar experiences made them too scared to drive again.

"Thanks for the warning, definitely checking my car before driving now," a user wrote. "Initially, I thought he had deliberately placed this toy over there to scare the bikers who overtake," a second user wrote. "There is nothing dangerous about this. Just a harmless reptile looking for a cozy spot. Just stop near some bushes and he will go away happily," wrote a third user.

"This incident happened to me on a bike. I didn’t dare to touch the bike for more than 10 years," added a fourth user. "Goes to sleep in a nice dry cosy spot and wakes up in a giant contraption moving faster than it has ever travelled before, it must have been a nightmare for that poor little snake," added another user.
