Contrary to the popularity of the famous ‘Dahi Puri’, Maharashtra's iconic street dish topped the list of ‘10 Worst Rated Indian Street Foods’, according to TasteAtlas. TasteAtlas is an online travel guide for recipes, food reviews, and other food-related content. According to TasteAtlas, 2,508 ratings were recorded to create the list, where 1,773 were recognised by the system as legitimate. The ratings were recorded until August 17.
The list surfaced online and left many netizens surprised. The rankings were a shocker to most of the foodies as some of the dishes on the list are considered one of the most popular ones in the country. Dahi Puri, the one at the top, is a dish from Maharashtra, which comprises a hollowed puri filled with curd and other spicy ingredients. The dish is close to the other famous street snack called Pani Puri.

Madhya Pradesh’s Sev bagged the second spot on the list, followed by Gujarat’s Dabeli. The fourth spot on the list was secured by Bombay Sandwich. With a self-explanatory name, the dish is from Mumbai and is a type of sandwich. The fifth spot was again a shocker, as the position was secured by the popular Egg Bhurji.
Although it is considered one of the most loved snacks across the country, Dahi Vada took the sixth position on the list.
Coming to the seventh spot, Maharashtra's Sabudana Vada secured the spot, making the state appear on the list for the third time. Another shocking dish on the list was Papri Chaat, which took the eighth spot, followed by Punjab’s Gobi Paratha in the ninth position. The last spot on the list was bagged by South Indian dish Bonda.
The list went viral on social media as many people found some of their favourite dishes on it.
