Movie screening under the night sky is mostly one of the best. In fact, it is even often considered among the top ideas for romantic dates. However, despite it being an ideal outing, an open movie screening is not exactly something that can also make headlines- UNTIL- it's screened in a cemetery. Believe it or not, a cemetery in Thailand held film screenings from June 02 to June 06, as per reports by the South China Morning Post. And if you are already wondering about what horror movie was played during this unique screening, then let us clarify that you are absolutely wrong.
Horror movies had nothing to do with this cemetery screening, but it was rather a film screening for the dead. Yes, take your time to let that sink in. Empty chairs were reportedly laid out in a cemetery in northeastern Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima province. As per reports, the ghosts who were believed to attend the unique screenings, were reportedly descendants of Chinese people, as the area had a major population of people who lived in Thailand and couldn't go back to China.
The screenings reportedly began at 7 PM and ended at midnight. Apart from the ‘expected ghost viewers’, four staff members were also present at the event. As per the reports, such screens are common in Thailand, among the Chinese communities, where these screenings are held after the ‘Ching Ming Festival or before the Dragon Boat Festival’.
