Viral Video: In the last few months, the language debate and language imposition-related incidents have only increased drastically in Karnataka. The one city that is gaining the most attention over such ‘language hate’ is Bengaluru, where many were seen asking migrants to speak in Kannada. Adding to the list, yet another incident unfolded at a toll plaza in the state, where a man was seen fighting and getting aggressively triggered over a toll plaza employee speaking in Hindi. However, what made the incident further viral, was the employee's response to the argument, where he reminded the man that the toll plaza fell under the Centre government, which meant that he was not required to speak in Kannada.
The clip went viral and left many irked as most people disagreed with the man and supported the toll plaza employee. The date of the incident could not be confirmed.
The Karnataka video, after getting shared, went viral and pulled all kinds of reactions. Most people agreed with the toll plaza employee and pointed out that he was not required to speak in Kannada as he was working for the centre's toll plaza, while the rest sided with the other man.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’. The post was captioned, “Kalesh b/w a Toll Tax Staff and Car driver over Not speaking Kannada in Karnataka.”

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “Good answer by that employee, He is not responsible for learning every language wherever he posted,” a user said. “Excellent example & response by that employee. He is a central govt employee handling a central govt toll at an inter-state border. Look at the aggro by the Kannada driver? ,” commented a second person.
“Bhai, Why do they want to impose Kannada on other people,” added a fourth user. “It's people who choose whatever they want to speak,” added a fifth person. “I request Kannada people not to spread hate over language. We are all Indian,” added a sixth person. “This is crossing the limit now .... The Constitution doesn't mention such a thing. Enough is enough,” added another.
