Viral Reddit Post: Winning something when you’re not even trying for it feels like the universe is playing a prank in your favour. That’s exactly what happened to one Reddit user who accidentally ended up with a brand-new PlayStation. The story didn’t begin with a contest, just a sudden craving. He was at a supermarket when he felt like eating a Munch, and his friend picked one up for him for Rs 20. The chocolate wrapper mentioned a PS5 Slim giveaway, so he casually typed the special code on the website and moved on with life, not expecting anything.
“The PlayStation I got from buying a munch,” the caption on his Reddit post says, perfectly summarising his disbelief. A few days later, something wild happened: a message popped up saying he had actually won. His first thought wasn’t excitement but confusion. “I didn't believe it and thought it was a scam. Then the delivery ID came, and I was ecstatic.”
"I am from a middle-class background and always dreamed of playing with a PlayStation and this all happened 2 months ago. I was preparing to sell it at that time because I was in need of money and because all the games I wanted to play were locked behind a huge paywall," he wrote. But eventually, his heart won over the practical thoughts. “After doing some side gigs, I am planning to buy PS Plus on black friday sale and play out my dreams,” he shared.

The wholesome post spread quickly across Reddit, pulling in thousands of reactions. People couldn’t stop celebrating his good fortune, calling him unbelievably lucky. One user wrote, "Back in 2017/18, we had won a lottery too, an Alto car. I had randomly bought a 20 Rs. ticket in a Durga Puja Pandal. Days later, my mom checked the newspaper and was shocked that the code number actually matched lol." "I always used to think offers like these are just to attract customers and never happen irl. Shocked to see this," a second user wrote.
"That's insane! Congratulations. Games are regularly on discount and there are very good top-level games available on PS Plus. Even if you only purchase that in the entire year, you will have more than enough games to play," wrote a third user. "Wow, congrats, man. Always thought these things were a scam, but happy to be proven wrong," added a fourth user.
