Top 10 Fastest Snakes In The World: No type of snake encounter is a pleasure. Even if you are one of those people who love snakes, the encounter is still equally deadly, scary and horrifying because these reptiles are friendly only in your mind or in viral videos on the internet. No hate to snakes- they surely are beautiful, but it's important to understand that phrases like ‘if not friendly then why friend-shaped’ are accurate for creatures like them.
Anyhow, if you are still interested in getting that picture-perfect click with the scaled one if ever encountered, then we believe it's our duty to tell you about some of them which are considered the deadliest as far as speed is concerned. So if you ever bump into them, please try to run the opposite way, rather than running towards them.

Top 10 fastest snakes in the world:
Sidewinder
With a record of 18 mph strike speed, the Sidewinder is at the top of the list and is considered the fastest in the world. These snakes move sidewards and are almost unbeatable on the ground.
Rat Snake
The second fastest snake in the world is the Rat Snake. These nonvenomous snakes have a strike speed of 2.67 meters per second.
Cottonmouth
The third scaled reptile on the list is the Cottonmouth snake. They are the fastest in the US, with a strike speed of 2.97 meters per second.
King Cobra
Of course, no ‘deadly snake’ list is complete without a King Cobra in it, correct? Well, this one can kill a full-grown adult in under 30 minutes, and secondly, it’s a King Cobra. They don’t play.
Yellow-bellied Sea Snake
The next on the list looks beautiful and terrifying at the same time. The fifth on the list is the Yellow-bellied Sea snake. They are the fastest snakes in the water. So when in a water body, look out for these black and yellow ones, or any others too for that matter of fact.
Southern Black Racer
This one is a shade of black, and black never disappoints. So yes, this snake surely looks beautiful, but it is also one of the fastest nonvenomous snakes in the world.
Common Death Adder
For this one, we have to go to Australia. The Common Death Adder, is the fastest in the country, with a strike speed of 100 milliseconds. They are as terrifying as their name sounds.
Black Mamba
The next predictable reptile on the list is the Black Mamba. This one is the fastest on the ground in Africa and surely is one of the deadliest.
Horned Rattlesnake
They look scary, they are scary and one of the fastest in the world. On the ninth spot, we have the Horned Rattlesnake.

Western Diamondback Rattlesnake
The last on the list is the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. Not only are they the fastest but also one of the longest snakes in the US.
