Top 10 Interesting Facts About Moon That Will Shock You:
Water On Moon
Not the regular kind of water that we drink on Earth, but studies and research suggest that the Moon has ‘forms of ice’ that are trapped within its surface. As per reports, the said ‘trapped ice’ is at the Moon’s lunar surface, making it colder.
Moonquakes
Apparently, not just the Earth but the Moon too gets its fair share of quakes. As per reports, these moonquakes are often the results of the Earth’s ‘gravitational influence’. However, unlike Earth’s earthquakes, the quakes on the Moon can leave the surface shaking for up to ‘half an hour’.
Tides
Everyone knows about the changes in tides that the Moon causes, however, the Moon is reportedly also responsible for ‘rock tides’. As per reports, these changes are not as visible as the tides in the ocean.
Moon’s Origin
Many scientists believe that the Moon was a result of a major collision, where reportedly a rock the size of Mars, hit the Earth, years ago.
Drifting Moon
We should consider ourselves lucky that we were born in the times when the Moon was still visible to us! Confused as to why? Well, as per reports, the Moon is slowly drifting away from us on a yearly basis.
Size Illusion
This one might not be that uncommon but it sure is a fact that was allegedly discovered late. They might look the same, but the sizes of the Moon and the Sun have an extremely huge difference.
Dark Surface
It might be the most 'beautiful and bright face’ to poets, but the Moon as per studies, has a dark surface. We are sure you never saw this one coming. Did you?
