Golden Gujiya Viral Video: With Holi just around the corner, sweet shops in Uttar Pradesh are making headlines with some extravagant treats. A shop in Gonda has introduced a ‘Golden Gujiya’, priced at a whopping Rs 50,000 per kg. Unlike regular gujiyas, this special sweet is covered in edible 24-carat gold and filled with premium dry fruits, making it a luxurious festive delight.
A video of this gold-coated gujiya from Gauri Sweets was shared by news agency ANI. The shop manager explained why the sweet costs so much, saying, "Our 'golden gujiya' has a layering of 24-carat gold. The stuffing has special dry fruits. 24-carat gold and silver are also eaten. This gujiya costs Rs 50,000 per kg and each gujiya costs Rs 1,300." The video quickly went viral, sparking a debate online. While some people were impressed by the idea of a golden gujiya, others found the price too outrageous for a simple sweet.

A video shared by ANI on X today has gone viral, gaining 45k views from social media users. Many people reacted quickly, sharing their thoughts on the expensive sweet. One user joked, "Gujiya bhi gold ke bhav mein milne lagi hai." Another user asked, "Is it something to eat or to keep as a decoration in a cupboard locker?"
Meanwhile, someone else humorously commented, "How many gujiyas can be made from one kidney?"
Meanwhile, a sweet shop in Lucknow decided to do something different. Instead of adding gold, they made India’s largest gujiya, measuring 25 inches and weighing 6 kg. This massive sweet has even made it into the India Book of Records, as reported by ANI.

Pramil Dwivedi, an executor from the India Book of Records, confirmed this by saying, "This gujiya breaks all the records. When the owner claims so, we searched and found that such gujiya was never prepared earlier."
This year, Holi isn’t just about colours and celebrations—it’s also about extraordinary sweets. Whether it’s a Rs 50,000 golden gujiya or a record-breaking giant one, it’s clear that Indians love to make their festivals bigger and better every year.
