A video from the coronation night of Miss Grand International 2025 in Thailand has gone viral after a beauty contestant mistakenly walked forward, believing she had secured a spot in the pageant’s Top 22. The contestant quickly realised her name had not actually been called, leading to an instantly famous moment.

The viral video captured the moment that Isamar Herrera, the 31-year-old contestant representing Panama, stood on stage among 76 other global competitors during the Miss Grand International 2025 coronation night. As the announcement of the Top 22 qualifiers was underway, Herrera appeared to believe she heard her own name called. Overcome with joy and celebration, she immediately stepped forward from the line, beaming as she pumped her fists in the air, with the television cameras briefly focusing on her reaction.

The celebratory moment, however, was quickly cut short and the atmosphere on stage shifted dramatically. Within seconds, the background crowd fell silent and the reason for the confusion became immediately clear to everyone watching. The contestant whose name had been genuinely announced was not Panama's representative, but actually Cecilia Romero, the hopeful from Paraguay. Herrera was left to realise the unfortunate error just as her brief, misplaced celebration concluded.

"Aaah, I beg your pardon, I announced Miss Grand Paraguay. There is a lot of noise in this hall, packed full of fans from all over the world," the host announced.

The clip of the contestant's mistaken celebration quickly went viral across social media platforms. However, many users called for empathy instead of ridicule for the Panamanian delegate.

Users offered various explanations for the slip-up, suggesting that the mistake was understandable. For example, one user commented, "Panama, Canada, Paraguay, sound the same, don’t condemn her." Another person speculated, "Maybe she didn’t really understand because of language barrier."
