Lucknow Viral Video: When it comes to a typical Indian roadside fight, the ‘weapon of choice’ can vary from the category of anything to everything. In other words, from sticks, stones, brooms and slippers to utensils, helmets and whatnot, everything turns into a weapon when desis decide for a ‘showdown’. Exemplifying something similar, a video came forward, where some men were seen thrashing each other using their ‘chappals’ (slippers). The men were fighting on the roadside and hardly gave any heed to passers-by. As per the post, the incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, whereas the date could not be confirmed.
Apart from the brawl, people also cracked jokes on the possibility of the fight taking place in UP, out of all the states, as they dubbed such incidents ‘common’ for the state. The video drew a mega reaction from netizens, as some even jokingly compared it with the ever-famous ‘Battle of Baghpat’.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘sanjayjourno’. The post was captioned, “Can anyone tell me how many times “mare deo” (kill me) and “maro” (kill me) were uttered during this chappal war that took place in Lucknow?” The video was shared yesterday and pulled 24K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “No.59 got thrashed by their opponents in chappal war,” a user said. “Frustration. Inflation. Lack of customers. Government's strictness, and the people around who are taking it out on each other, due to such a small stupidity, such incidents happen,” added a second person.
‘UP never disappoints us, always brings a new way of kalesh,” said a third user. “We should totally add this to the Olympics—imagine the excitement of a cha papal cla sh!” added a fourth user. “It's not up to standard fight...Yogi ji destroyed lrai culture badly,” added another. “Couldn't have taken place at a better location than UP,” added another.
