Viral Video: In a recent video that left people ‘accusing’ the Indian Railways of ‘turning a blind eye’ to ticketless passengers travelling in trains without consequences, two women were seen engaged in an ugly fight with another co-passenger. Holding his collar, one of the women was abusing and threatening him over some ‘seat issue’, while the rest of the passengers watched the drama unfold. The duo in question was a mother and daughter duo, who wanted the man to leave the seat. It was unclear whether it was the man’s seat or the duo’s, but both were fighting for the same spot. The date and location of the incident could not be confirmed, but as per the viral post, the incident took place aboard the Dehradun To Gorakhpur train.
The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Arhant Shelby’. The post was re-shared by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’, with the caption, “Kalesh b/w a Mother-Daughter Duo and a Man inside Dehradun to Gorakhpur train over Seat issues on Women's Day.”

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media. Most people spoke against the women and criticised their behaviour over the matter, while the rest dubbed such incidents ‘common’ inside the trains. Many also demanded action and some blamed Indian Railways for not taking ticketless passengers seriously. The video was shared four days ago and pulled 582K likes from people.

Taking to the comments section, people shared their take. “Half of the problem will be solved if the general coach of the train is turned into a chair sitting coach @IndianRailMedia,” a user said. “Look how she’s holding his collar. Now even a small retaliation from him will be a crime,” said a second person. “Normal scenery in the 2nd class coach,” said a third person.
“Passenger seat fights happen every day, don't mention it as women's day... This happened in most of the general compartments,” added a fourth user. “This is quite common in those trains coming from North India padding via South India a lot,” added a fifth user. “Our guy is having different sorts of videos for different days. Nice handle,” said a sixth person.
“Railways are to blame for such incidents as they turn a blind eye to unreserved/ticketless passengers in reserved coaches and allow them to travel,” wrote a seventh netizen.
