Viral Video: Remember the famous TV drama scene where everyone's ‘favourite’ ‘Gopi Bahu’ gave a good wash to ‘Aham ji’s’ laptop, all in the name of love? Well, the internet was quick to recall the same after they saw something similar. A video of a woman washing a ‘naan’ with water was shared online, which received countless confused reactions. But only to later realise, that the two scenarios were worlds apart as the latter never did anything as blunderous as ‘Gopi Bahu’. The said video went viral and left the internet divided, as some people found it ridiculous, while the rest called it a ‘common practice’. The ‘naan’ was washed so that the woman could fry it later, which apparently turned out to be the ‘correct way’ to do so.

The same process and reasoning were also clarified by the woman in her post’s description, where she also opened up about the food being 'left over' from their ‘last night’s dinner’. Hence, reheating the otherwise somewhat stale food.

The video was shared on the social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘everythingalishay’. The post was captioned, “The leftover food tastes 10 times better than it does the night before. Nobody can fight me on this. This is chicken Bihari boti - Mama's special and one of my favourite dishes of hers. Are you even desi / brown, if you don’t fry your naan.”

The video went viral and left people divided. Most sided with the woman and called the practice of wetting a naan ‘common’, while some were confused and asked about the reason for doing so. Some also downright refused to call it the ‘correct method’. The post was shared a while back and pulled 814K likes from people.

Taking to the comments section, people shared their take. “People complaining about washing the naan will never know TRUE culture,” a user said. “Everyone in Germany also wets their bread rolls before putting them in the oven to revive them. So the naan thing was normal. Looks delish!” said a second person. “Why would you wet the naan,” asked a third user.

“The amount of ppl does not understand wetting the naan no one taught y’all about using a damp paper towel around bread when reheating to keep it moist? Same thing” said another. “Why'd she wet the naan- then they put a vomit emoji. Do you know how naan is made? Do you know that you need to add water to the flour to knead the dough..she did it to soften the naan because it was probably in the fridge,” said a fifth person.

“What type of burger point we have reached in our culture? Is everyone complaining about wetting the naan???? Are you for real naan ese hi fry kartay hain bachon (That is the correct way of frying naan,” said another.
