Viral Video: The thing about people who take justice into their own hands to get the corrupt punished is that they mostly look good only in movies. In real life, such people are nothing but lawbreakers themselves. An example of the same is a video that was recently shared, where the public took the law into their hands and brutally beat up pickpockets on a moving bus. A video of the same was shared online, which went viral and left people divided. Some agreed with the crowd’s decision, while the rest dubbed the incident a ‘crime’. The date and location of the incident could not be confirmed.

The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Delhi Buses’. The caption was in Hindi, which roughly translated to, “Passengers beat up pickpockets.

Delhi buses have become a den of crime. The incidents of pickpocketing in Delhi buses are increasing. Passengers are badly troubled by pickpockets. Every day, phones and purses of hundreds of passengers are being stolen in Delhi buses.”

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media and left people divided. Some sided with the passengers and called the consequences ‘befitting’, while the rest chastised the crowd for the behaviour. Many also expressed their concerns about an increase in the number of such cases in public transport. The post was shared two days ago and pulled 12K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “The public beat them right and this should be the case with people like them,” a user said. “Very good thing, the situation is the same everywhere, they enter crowded buses and steal from everyone,” a second person wrote. “I condemn this. Marna he toh theek se maaro (If you want to beat someone up, do it in the correct way),” added a third person.

“Yes, what is the conductor doing sitting in the bus? Does he have permission to make videos in the bus @dtchq_delhi for such crimes?” added a third. “Stealing is of course wrong and people stealing should be punished, but by the law and not people,” said another. “Why were the bus marshals removed? This is why they were needed. To get situations like these under control. Of course, stealing is wrong, but to beat up people like this is also not the correct way,” added the next.
