Sexual Harassment Viral Video: As Holi approached, a shocking video started circulating on social media, revealing the dark side of the festival. The clip, which quickly went viral, showed how some people take advantage of the celebrations to engage in inappropriate behaviour, particularly towards women. Instead of being about colours and joy, the video highlighted moments where harassment was disguised as festive fun.
The viral 30-second video featured six different incidents from past years, exposing how such behaviour has repeatedly surfaced during Holi. Sadly, these scenes have become all too familiar, reappearing every year just before the festival. While many viewers were outraged and called for stricter action, the discussion also sparked controversy. Some people felt that focusing on such incidents unfairly targeted cultural celebrations like Holi and Diwali, rather than addressing harassment as a broader issue.
This debate once again raises an important question—why do celebrations become an excuse for disrespecting personal boundaries?

"Bura na mano Holi hai", is not a justification for hooliganism. It's a proper warning to women who dare to venture outside on Holi. https://t.co/fso0G8sPTh

The viral video was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the user '@tishasaroyan,' sparking intense discussions online. The caption read, "Bura na mano Holi hai" is not a justification for hooliganism. It's a proper warning to women who dare to venture outside on Holi." Shared earlier today, the video quickly gained traction, amassing 101K views. Social media users reacted swiftly, flooding the comment section with strong opinions, with many condemning the disturbing reality shown in the footage.
One user strongly condemned the incidents, stating, "It's nothing but molestation and harassment." Another user highlighted a preventive measure taken in Manipur, commenting, "In Manipur, we see this coming, so we turned it into a sports festival way back in the early '80s. Now, you will find sports meets in every locality during the Holi season."
Expressing disappointment over the state of society, a third user wrote, "The society seems to be going backwards at light speed." Meanwhile, another user suggested a solution, remarking, "People who oppose this are those who don’t understand women’s safety—those who don’t have a wife, girlfriend, or daughter. I think women should celebrate Holi separately in a private space."
