Viral Video: Believe it or not, social media has witnessed quite a number of instances where people were convinced of getting tricked with ‘fake’ food. Under this category of ‘fake’ food, fruits and vegetables were seemingly the top ‘contenders’, where many claimed that the food looked real but ‘felt’ fake. Adding another to the list, a video was recently shared online, where a woman claimed that she got a ‘fake’ cabbage from Swiggy Mart. To prove her point, the woman tried to burn the cabbage leaves, however, nothing happened. She then went ahead and tried to tear the leaf, but failed again. In fact, the woman claimed that the leaf turned further ‘tight and stretchy’ after being burned.

The video went viral and ended up getting a majorly divided reaction. Most people sided with the woman and spoke on ‘cheap’ ways to make a ‘fake’ vegetable, while the rest disagreed and questioned the woman’s knowledge on the matter.

The video was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘Megha kadur’. The post was captioned, “Real vs Fake Cabbage? Guys plz comment if you feel this is fake or real cabbage. This will help others also when they buy vegetables.” The video was shared a long back and pulled 260K likes from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “It’s very simple. It's real cabbage, just not fresh. If u notice it has enough moisture from within do not allow it to burn and let it cook. Secondly, the plastic cabbages which you are talking about are not cheap. They are an art form from Japan,” a user said.

“That gas is fake,” added a second person. “People who don't know that making fake cabbage is actually very easy and cheap. Search videos of how fake cabbages are made and then come back here,” added a third person. “Bro do u realise the craftsmanship it would require to make a realistic cabbage from plastic,” added a fourth person.
