Sunder Nursery Viral Video: Imagine heading to a peaceful heritage park after a rain shower, only to find it turned into a noisy splash zone. That’s what visitors at Delhi’s Sunder Nursery witnessed recently, and the internet is not impressed. A video that’s now doing the rounds on Instagram shows a group of people turning the pond at Sunder Nursery into their own public swimming pool. With children jumping in, adults laughing loudly, and people cheering them on, the quiet charm of the Mughal-style garden was completely lost in the chaos.
The now-viral video was shared by Ayyan Javed, a Delhi University graduate, who recorded the scene and posted it with the caption: “SWIMMING POOL IN SUNDER NURSERY Note: just to give awareness regarding keeping the place clean and pretty, dont mess way too deep.”
In the background, someone is even heard joking, “Yahan dekho — idhar paani kam hai, log zyaada hain!”, capturing just how crowded the pond had become. Since it was shared on June 30, the video has gathered more than 331k views and thousands of likes, but most of the response has been outrage rather than amusement.

Many were shocked to see such behaviour in a place that’s known for its historic beauty, greenery, and calm surroundings. Sunder Nursery isn’t just another park; it’s an important ecological space, home to over 300 types of trees, birds, and heritage monuments.
Social Media Reactions:
"This is exactly why tickets are mandatory: to maintain discipline and preserve such beautiful spaces. Sadly, there’s still a lack of awareness among people. While security is present, it ultimately comes down to individuals being responsible and respectful towards public spaces like Sundar Nursery. We all need to understand the purpose of these places and use them mindfully," one user wrote. "Civic sense zero, individual responsibility in negative numbers! And when things go wrong or something is bad! Blame the government! Wow mere deshvaasiyon," a second user added.
"This is so shameful. Creating ruckus in public spaces and destroying things are considered fun by this Instagram generation. When they put new rules after this kind of reckless behaviour, then they will cry," a third user wrote. "Sunder Nursery is the only decent park we have left within Delhi with decent people, and after all these nonsense things, the park authorities will put more restrictions and new rules which will make things worse for the people who come daily to the park," added a fourth user.
"Jahaaaliyat ki bhi hadd paar kar rakhi hai indians ne, and being an indian i feel ashamed !! Itna parh likh ke bhi agar thoda saleeka nhi seekh paye toh woh paisa bacha ke thodi aqal khareed lete !! Yahan bachho ko nhi, barho ko school fir se jaane ki zarurat hai," a fifth user added. "I wish people had not discovered Sunder Nursery in the past 2-3 years. Utterly disappointing to see it in the current state," added another user.
