Viral Video: A short video showing a heated exchange between a husband and wife has reignited debates about India’s work-life balance and long working hours. In the video, the wife is seen angrily confronting her husband, who had just returned home after allegedly working for “72 hours.” She complains that he only spends “16 hours” at home and highlights how she manages the household on her own while he is away. Meanwhile, the husband looks exhausted, still in his formal clothes and removing his ID card, barely responding to her outburst.

The video, shared on Instagram by the handle ‘INDIANS’, quickly went viral, racking up over 4.5 million views in a day. Netizens were divided in their reactions. Some felt the wife was wrong in the way she expressed her frustration, while many others supported her, saying it is natural to expect time with one’s spouse.

Comments under the post highlighted the broader issue of overwork in India. One user wrote, “It is sad, but look at her, she is asking for her husband's time. This is where we shouldn’t criticize either the man or the woman but long working hours.” Another said, “She isn’t wrong for wanting to spend time with her man. But the high tone and timing are wrong..And she shouldn’t record her exhausted husband that way.”

Others pointed out that tone and timing matter. “Firstly, stop with that tone, second, stop recording your husband like that, it’s not respectful. 72-hour shift is not a joke. God knows what stress he is suffering from. Nowadays, keeping a good job is a big task,” a third user commented. Another added, “I think it's sad for both how he doesn't get enough time for home and has to work so much and for her that she barely sees her husband and has to work so much at home alone, sad how the system doesn't give time for actual work-life balance.”
