Viral Video: A video of a woman sharing her emotional journey of healing through crafting paper stars during her stay in a mental hospital was shared online and captured the hearts of many. In the video, the woman explained how making paper stars became her way of coping with difficult times.
The viral video was shared by Sophie Puchulu on her Instagram account 'squishiesophie.' In the video, Sophie mentioned that she spent countless hours folding papers to create small, intricate stars. "When I was in the mental hospital, the only thing I did was make paper stars, I spent 12 to 16 hours every day folding paper, creating these little stars."
A touching moment in the video shows Sophie sharing her stars with a little girl, a fellow patient, who quietly tucked some away. Despite this, Sophie continued making the stars, "I kept making them anyway," Sophie says.

Further in the video, she explained that even after being discharged a week later, Sophie’s commitment to her craft didn’t fade. “I made them until my fingers were sore, and then I made more.”
The video concludes with Sophie proudly showing off the mountain of paper stars she made over the three weeks. "Every single one is a paper star," she adds.
"You beautiful human. Your soul is sparkly and beautiful and you created magic during your suffering, that is peak-human excellence right there. A million gold stars awarded to you from this therapist," one user wrote. "I started making paper stars because of you. It's so calming and keeps my brain blank of thoughts! I love it! Thank you!! Also, I love the paper you're using! Where do you get it? Mine is just solid colors," a second user added.
"When I was at the hospital this older patient taught me how to make origami frogs and I swear I made 50," a third user commented. "I had a friend who made these in high school, she used to give some to me or hide them in my backpack. I never told her how I really felt. Years later I found them hidden away in a telescope box inside my attic. Not sure what to do with them now," a fourth user wrote.
