Viral Video: Laura Coleman-Day found a special way to remember her late husband during the 2025 London Marathon. On what would have been their wedding anniversary, she decided to run part of the race in her actual wedding dress to honour his memory.
Her husband, Xander, sadly passed away last year after facing complications from a rare type of leukaemia. Since then, Laura has taken on a big challenge, running 13 marathons in 12 months to support research for blood cancer and stem cell treatment. For most of the race, she wore regular running clothes. But with just a few miles left, she changed into her wedding dress and finished the race in it, creating a moment full of love and strength.

On her wedding anniversary, Laura Coleman-Day completed the 2025 TCS London Marathon to conclude her epic 12 marathons in 12 months challenge for @anthonynolancharity — wearing her wedding dress for the final few miles in memory of her husband Xander. I saw her story before the marathon. We saw her at 25.5 and she looked amazing," a second user added. "This is incredible. My husband died in 2019 near the finish line of a 1/2 marathon, and last year I finished the race he didn’t get to on the 5-year anniversary," a third user added.
"Well done, Laura!! We lost our father 11 years ago, but we had 17 years with him because of @anthonynolancharity. Well done, lovely lady. Seeing you on the coverage was inspiring," added a fourth user. "What a wonderful tribute. Very well done on your achievement, Laura. Hope you managed to enjoy what I'm sure was a sad day for you. Wonderful smile," another user added.
