Ever since kids born after 1996- Generation Z- grew old enough to have views on social media and enter the working population, the debate around ‘Gen Z vs Millennials’ only skyrocketed. Social media is full of instances where either of the two was seen expressing their ‘dislike’ or frustration towards the other. Adding to the list, a woman shared a post on social media, where she called Gen Z employees ‘rude’ and difficult to work with. She further dubbed them ‘inconsiderate’ and called all these behavioral traits a reason why her friends are NOT hiring Gen Z employees anymore. As soon as her post went viral, a major debate was triggered, as many believed that the woman was simply generalising an entire generation. A few also sided with her, while some simply began to point out ‘issues with Millennials and Boomers’.

The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘harnidhish’. The post read, “So many of my friends are now not hiring Gen Z NOT because they aren’t smart or good at their jobs (they are) but because they’re rude, difficult to work with, and don’t know how to behave with other colleagues. Honestly hard to defend a lot of the stuff lol.”

“To quote someone who’s put in the effort to try and bridge the gap- ‘they expect everyone to make space for and care about their feelings but if you ask them to care about anyone else’s, it’s too much work for them and they lash out’. Ouch,” the post further read. The post was shared today and pulled 74K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “way to go with the generalization! I can say the same for boomers and millennials who don't want to pay their employees fairly, have no life of their own, want everyone to slog at work, and are mostly intolerant of diversity and yes, they generalize,” a user said.

“You missed 'entitlement'. I guess based on the COVID era when they saw people established in their careers getting paid for WFH while spending their time making Dalgona coffees,” added a second user. “The old generations eventually have to adapt or go home, and they are one of the smartest generations. The older ones have an ego problem if they feel hurt,” added a third person. “Same story with every generation. They think the next one is soft,” added another.
