Air India Flight Viral Video: A routine flight from Kolkata to Mumbai turned into an uncomfortable situation this week when YouTuber Mahi Khan faced a shocking encounter with a fellow passenger over language. The incident on Air India flight AI676 has sparked heated debates online about language intolerance and passenger behaviour. Khan shared that the trouble started when a woman on the plane, reportedly wearing a Hyundai logo shirt, insisted he should know Marathi just because he was travelling to Mumbai.
“She told me, ‘You’re going to Mumbai, you should know Marathi,’” Khan said in a video on his Instagram handle, ‘Mahinergy’. When he explained that he did not speak Marathi, the woman allegedly threatened him, saying: “Get down in Mumbai and I’ll show you misbehaviour.” Despite the threat, Khan stayed calm and informed the flight crew. He even questioned the woman, asking, “Kya badtameezi hai yeh (what kind of rudeness is this)?” The woman reportedly repeated her threat: “I’ll show you what badtameezi is.”
Khan recorded the confrontation on his phone, highlighting that this issue goes beyond him. He said, “You cannot force a language. You cannot bully respect.” His video quickly went viral, dividing social media users; some condemned the woman’s actions as intolerant, while others supported her stand for Marathi pride. Khan concluded his post with a powerful reminder: “I recorded everything because this isn’t just about me, it’s about the mindset that’s growing dangerously normal.”

The video was shared a few hours ago and received 3 million views from users. "I will never choose Air India if you cannot give us a public apology from this lady," a user wrote. "We are Maharashtrian and this is not our culture.... It's totally wrong to force someone to talk Marathi... India is known for its diversified languages, so it's not mandatory ki Mumbai ja rhe ho to Marathi bolna padega... What is this... She is totally gone, case bloody," a second user wrote.
"Then why is she working in a Korean company. She should work in a Marathi company," wrote a third user. "You'd better hold this lady accountable for this shameful act and issue an apology," added a fourth user. "Strict action needs to be taken against such people," wrote another user.
