Viral Video: In an incident that seemingly highlighted the lack of control over hooliganism in Uttar Pradesh, a taxi driver was brutally thrashed by a group of youngsters allegedly in Ghaziabad. The gruesome matter reportedly unfolded at the CISF Road, a video of which was later shared on social media. The clip went viral and left netizens irked. As per the viral post, the incident took place in the Indirapuram Police Station area, whereas the reason behind the assault was not clear. The victim was later rushed to the hospital.

Responding to the viral video, the UP Police further updated on the matter. As per the police, a case has been registered, while the investigation is underway.

The video has been circulating since the minute it was shared on social media. Some called such violence ‘normal’ for Uttar Pradesh, while the rest recalled their own horror instances. Some also demanded action against the men.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘amsunilgautam_’. The post was captioned, “This is Ghaziabad district… On CISF road in Indirapuram police station area, 4-5 youths travelling in a car beat up a taxi driver with sticks, the video of the assault went viral, the injured was admitted to the hospital, @ghaziabadpolice is busy investigating.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled many views.

“In connection with the above case, a case has been registered under relevant sections at Indirapuram Police Station. Further legal proceedings are underway,” read the response by DCP Trans Hindon Commissionerate Ghaziabad.

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “The person who is saying "what is ours" in the video is the one responsible. Police cannot be present everywhere, people should unite against such anarchy,” a user said. “Ghaziabad-Noida isi mein barbaad hai (Ghaziabad-Noida are ruined because of the same),” added a second person.

“Welcome to Uttam Pradesh,” added a third person. “Road rage and India have sadly become synonymous," wrote a fourth person. “Maybe for silly reason,” added a fifth user. “That's why I'm afraid to come to India. Once a drunk guy did this kind of kalesh w/ the auto driver. Me and my mom were there in his auto and after that, midway that guy tried to hit the auto. my soul left for a minute when this happened I thought that'd be my last day,” joined the next.
