Air Canada Express Plane Crash Update: The pilot and co-pilot of the Air Canada Express Plane that collided with a fire truck at New York’s La Guardia Airport, were killed, reported Sky News on Monday. Images of the accident on showed severe damage to the aircraft's nose and front fuselage.
As per initial reports, several people were also injured, including five firefighters. The exact number, however, remains unclear. The Air Canada Express Bombardier CRJ-900 was carrying 72 passengers and four crew members, as per Reuters. According to local media reports, the aircraft from Montreal collided with a fire truck at the airport's Runway 4 during landing.
New York’s La Guardia Airport Shuts Operations
New York’s La Guardia Airport was closed after the arriving Air Canada Express CRJ-900 collided with a ground vehicle, as per flight tracking website FlightRadar24.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop for all planes at the airport until 0530 GMT, according to a notice from the regulator.

How Did The Air Canada Plane Crash Happen?
An Air Canada Express regional jet hit the ground vehicle during landing at New York's LaGuardia airport, according to Flightradar24. The CRJ-900 plane, which was coming from Montreal, struck the vehicle at a speed of about 24 miles per hour (39 kph), Flightradar24 further mentioned.

ATC audio shows the Port Authority fire truck (Truck 1) crossing active Runway 4 while Air Canada Express Jazz flight 646 (CRJ-900 from Montreal) was landing. "Stop Stop Stop" is what the air traffic controller told the truck driver just moments before it ran into the into an Air Canada plane.
