Iran’s National Security Chief, Ali Larijani, on Monday sent a message to Muslim countries, criticising their perceived lack of support for Tehran amid the ongoing US-Israeli conflict, now entering its third week. The war has disrupted global energy supplies and stoked fears of rising inflation worldwide.

In a note addressed to Muslims globally and the governments of Islamic nations, Larijani condemned what he called a “treacherous American-Zionist aggression” that led to the deaths of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, military officials, and civilians. He highlighted the “firm national and Islamic resistance” of the Iranian people in response to the attacks.

Larijani questioned why so few Islamic countries had supported Iran, calling on them to consider the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, who urged Muslims to respond when called upon. He also criticised nations that labelled Iran an enemy after Tehran targeted American bases and interests on their soil, calling such claims “flimsy pretexts.”

“The confrontation today is between America and Israel on one side, and Muslim Iran and the forces of resistance on the other. Which side are you on?" Larijani wrote in the message.

He urged Muslim countries to reflect on their future, noting that “America is unreliable and Israel is your enemy,” and emphasised that unity across the Islamic world would lead to security, progress, and independence for all member states.

Larijani concluded the message and said, “The unity of the Islamic nation, if achieved with full force, will lead to security, progress, and independence for all its countries. Peace be upon you. A servant of God, Ali Larijani.”
