Speaking to the World Economic Forum audience, Trump warned that “certain places in Europe are not even recognisable” and expressed concern that the continent is “not heading in the right direction,” despite his affection for the region.

Trump framed his speech around America’s economic achievements under his leadership, declaring that “inflation has been defeated” and the country’s previously “open and dangerous border” has been secured. He touted core inflation at just 1.6 per cent and predicted fourth-quarter 2025 growth of 5.4 per cent, figures that far exceed mainstream forecasts. US resident also promised to share the “recipe” for US success with other nations, asserting that he is delivering “the most remarkable transformation in US history” and growth that “no country has seen before.”

Trump Calls Denmark ‘Ungrateful’ Over Greenland

Trump reignited a long-running geopolitical controversy at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2026, openly questioning the United States’ post-war decision to return Greenland to Denmark and accusing Copenhagen of ingratitude. Addressing a packed audience, Trump said the US had made a grave mistake after the war by handing the strategically vital Arctic territory back to Denmark, asking rhetorically, “How stupid were we to do that? But we did it, we gave it back. And how ungrateful are they now?”

DTrump claimed that only the United States has the power to secure Greenland, doubling down on his push to take control of the Danish autonomous territory. He described the US as a “great power,” cited a recent US military operation in Venezuela as proof of its strength, and accused NATO ally Denmark of being “ungrateful” despite American support after World War II.

Trump Repeats Claims Of Ending India-Pakistan War

Trump claimed that he had helped resolve eight international conflicts during his one year in office, including last year’s India-Pakistan conflict.
