US President Donald Trump has once again taken aim at TIME magazine, this time over what he called a “terrible” cover photo accompanying a largely positive story about his recent diplomatic achievements.
“TIME Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time,” Trump wrote early Tuesday on Truth Social. “They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird!”
The magazine unveiled its latest cover Monday with the headline “His Triumph,” featuring a low-angle shot of Trump gazing upward, backlit by bright sunlight. The image, intended to give a heroic tone, instead drew Trump’s ire for being unflattering. “I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles, but this is a super bad picture, and deserves to be called out. What are they doing, and why?” he added.

Past Clashes With TIME
This isn’t the first time Trump has publicly criticised TIME. In February, he mocked the magazine after it featured Elon Musk, then head of the Department of Government Efficiency, seated at the Oval Office’s Resolute Desk. “Is Time magazine still in business? I didn’t even know that,” he quipped, even as he praised Musk’s leadership.
A Controversial Compliment
The profile accompanying the disputed photo praised Trump’s role in brokering a historic Gaza ceasefire. The deal, signed in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh resort, led to the release of 20 hostages more than two years after Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack. In exchange, Israel freed around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and returned the remains of 360 Palestinians, officials confirmed.
Following the agreement, several world leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have reportedly called for Trump to be nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his “unprecedented success in restoring Middle East stability.”
Trump’s focus remained on the magazine cover. “What are they doing, and why?” he repeated in his Truth Social post, suggesting TIME deliberately chose an unflattering image despite an otherwise complimentary story.
