After former US president Donald Trump on Monday said that he would offer tech billionaire Elon Musk a Cabinet post or advisory role in the White House if he gets elected in the Presidential elections this November, the latter responded with a post on X, formerly Twitter that read, "I am willing to serve."

The post shows the Tesla chief standing in front of a podium emblazoned with the words "Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)." This comes as Trump was asked in the interview whether Musk was being considered for an advisory role or Cabinet job. In response, the former US president said he was willing to do so "if he (Musk) would do it". "He's a very smart guy. I certainly would, if he would do it, I certainly would. He's a brilliant guy," he said.
The remarks come a few days after the Tesla chief conducted an interview with Trump on X, formerly known as Twitter. In the interview, Trump hailed Musk’s automobiles, saying while not everyone ought to buy an electric car, Musk nonetheless produces “great products.”
Following Trump’s victory in the 2016 US Presidential Election, Musk was appointed to two of the Republican president's advisory councils following Trump's election in 2016, to influence immigration and environmental policies.
In a post earlier on X, Musk refuted claims that he had discussed a White House advising role with Trump. “There have not been any discussions of a role for me in a potential Trump Presidency,” Trump said.
