US President Donald Trump has stirred controversy once again by urging America to prioritise domestic security over concerns about Russian President Vladimir Putin. Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, "We should spend less time worrying about Putin, and more time worrying about migrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers, and people from mental institutions entering our Country – So that we don’t end up like Europe!"

Trump’s comments come in the wake of a heated clash with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House over a ceasefire deal with Russia. While most European nations, including the UK under Prime Minister Keir Starmer, have voiced their support for Ukraine, Trump has been more critical of US involvement in the conflict. Instead, he has doubled down on his focus on immigration, portraying it as a more pressing threat to national security.

Earlier, Trump claimed in another Truth Social post that he had successfully curbed illegal immigration to historic lows during his tenure. He asserted that his administration had put an end to what he called "the invasion of our Country.”

"The month of February, my first full month in office, had the LOWEST number of illegal immigrants trying to enter our country in history – BY FAR! There were only 8,326 apprehensions of illegals by Border Patrol at the US-Mexico Border, all of whom were quickly ejected from our nation or, when necessary, prosecuted for crimes against the United States of America. This means that very few people came – The invasion of our country is OVER," Trump wrote.

Attack On Biden's Policies

Trump further contrasted his immigration policies with those of his successor, Joe Biden. He accused Biden of failing to control the US- Mexico border and allowing a massive influx of undocumented migrants.

"In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the border is CLOSED to all illegal immigrants. Anyone who tries to illegally enter the USA will face significant criminal penalties and immediate deportation," Trump added.
