Tesla owner Elon Musk, who has been vocal about his support to former US President Donald Trump, took to X and said that the latter must win the US presidential election if people of America want to "preserve freedom and meritocracy".
"I have never been materially active in politics before, but this time I think civilization as we know it is on the line. If we want to preserve freedom and a meritocracy in America, then Trump must win," he wrote in a post on X.
Elon Musk's response came while he was replying to a post that hailed him as "one of the top in the world at synthesizing complex information."
"Elon is one of the best in the world at synthesizing complex information and seeing a path forward. He's not always right -- as none of us are -- but he has an incredible track record of seeing non-obvious things years ahead of others," said the post Musk responded to.

Elon Musk had earlier openly endorsed Trump after the former US President was shot at while addressing a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
"I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery. Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt," he wrote on X and shared a video of Trump showing Trump raising his fist in the air after a bullet skimmed the top of his ear during an assassination attempt.
Musk who always shares his strong opinions about ongoing global issues on X, was recently in the headlines after the Brazil Supreme Court temporarily suspended X. the suspension of Elon Musk's X in the country, three days after Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered the ban. The decision came after all five judges in the Supreme Court were asked to consider their decision to banish X from Brazil.
