Europe Flight Delay: Air India has issued an advisory to all the passengers who are stranded in major European airports, including Heathrow airport in London, owing to a cyber attack, which has caused a delay in the travel schedules of several passengers. The airline said that the disruption, affecting a third-party service provider in London, Collins Aerospace, may affect the normal travel schedules of the passengers.
However, the Indian Airline company assured that the ground staff is working round the clock to minimise the inconvenience. "A third-party passenger system disruption at Heathrow may cause delays in the check-in process. Our ground teams in London are working to minimise inconvenience. Passengers flying with us from London today are advised to complete their web check-in before arriving at the airport to help ensure a smooth experience," Air India said in an update posted on X.

So far, Heathrow Airport in London, Brussels Airport in Belgium, and Berlin Airport have only reported delays due to the global cyber attack. The airport authorities are, however, unable to say when things will become normal. Added to that, approximately 42 flights have been canceled in Ireland owing to this attack, as reported by Sky News.

All About Cyber Attacks on European Airports:
- A cyberattack targeted a third-party service provider on Friday night, affecting online airline check-in and boarding processes throughout Europe. Subsequently, only manual check-in and boarding were possible.
- Brussels Airport also said automated systems were completely disabled, forcing manual check-in and boarding. It urged passengers to check flight status with airlines before heading to the airport, advising arrivals two hours in advance for Schengen flights and three hours for international departures.
- At Heathrow Airport, Collins Aerospace, a global company providing check-ins, was impacted.
- Berlin Airport also reported longer check-in waiting times, citing a technical issue at a "system provider operating across Europe." It said teams were working on a quick solution.
- Authorities and airlines have not provided a timeline for the full restoration of services.
