Amid the violent protests in Bangladesh, some users on social media are sharing a post in the name of wicketkeeper batsman Liton Das. Along with the photo of Liton Das, a photo of a house on fire is also being shared in the post. Users are sharing the pictures and claiming that miscreants in Bangladesh have set fire to cricketer Liton Das' house.

Vishwas News investigated and found the viral claim to be false. Actually, this picture of arson in the house is of Bangladesh MP Mashrafe Bin Murtaza's house. It has nothing to do with cricketer Liton Das.

On searching the viral picture with the help of Google Lens, we found it on Bangladesh's website Daily Industry. The related news says that some people set fire to the house of Narail-2 area MP Mashrafe Bin Murtaza after vandalizing it. The miscreants also set fire to the houses of District Council President Advocate Subhash Chandra Bose and District Awami League General Secretary Nizam Uddin Khan Nilu. The mob also set fire to the District Awami League office at the old bus terminal.

Bangladesh-based Rumor Scanner fact checker Mohammad Shakiuzzaman also said the photo was from Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's house.
