A day after meeting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing and stressing need to counter terrorism in all its form, NSA Ajit Doval on Tuesday called on the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to hold perpetrators, organisers, financiers of cross border terror to account. The call is widely seen as a demand to act against Pakistan-backed terrorism.

In his address at a meeting of the top security officials of the SCO, NSA Doval said that India is "deeply concerned" about the persistent threats from the UN-proscribed terror organisations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Al Qaeda, ISIS, and their affiliates.

NSA highlighted India's Operation Sindoor's importance and necessity, stating that it was launched to dismantle terror infrastructure and deter terrorists from carrying out attacks in India following the cowardly Pahalgam terror strike.
