A senior leader of Pakistan’s ruling party has issued a provocative warning to India over Bangladesh’s sovereignty, claiming Islamabad would respond militarily if New Delhi took any hostile action against Dhaka. The remarks, made in video messages circulating on social media, come amid heightened regional tensions involving India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Kamran Saeed Usmani, who heads the youth wing of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League (PML), said any move by India against Bangladesh would provoke a response from Pakistan. “If India attacks Bangladesh’s autonomy, if anyone dares to cast an evil eye towards Bangladesh, then remember that the people of Pakistan, the Pakistani armed forces, and our missiles are not far away,” Usmani said.

Claims Of Indian ‘Conspiracies’ Against Bangladesh

Usmani claimed that Muslim youth in the region had become alert to what he described as India’s designs in South Asia. He alleged that these “conspiracies” took multiple forms, including cutting off Bangladesh’s water supplies, fuelling internal unrest and pitting Muslims against each other.

He further alleged that Pakistan would not accept Bangladesh being pushed into what he termed “India’s ideological dominance,” warning that any perceived threat to Dhaka’s autonomy would be met with a forceful response.

Talk Of Two-Front And Three-Front War Scenario

Escalating his rhetoric, Usmani outlined a hypothetical military scenario in which Pakistan would attack India from the west and Bangladesh from the east. He also claimed that China would remain focused on India’s northeastern regions, including Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh, effectively creating a three-front challenge for New Delhi.

Usmani asserted that Pakistan had previously forced India into a “difficult position” and could do so again if the situation demanded.

Call For Pakistan-Bangladesh Military Alliance

In a separate video, Usmani went further by calling for a formal military alliance between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He accused India’s Border Security Force (BSF) of “disturbing” Bangladesh and alleged that New Delhi was pursuing an “Akhand Bharat” ideology aimed at establishing a Hindu state.

He also suggested that Islamabad and Dhaka should set up military bases in each other’s territories, claiming such an arrangement would strengthen regional security against India. 

The remarks come as hundreds of people staged demonstrations near Bangladesh’s High Commission in New Delhi on Tuesday, protesting the lynching of a Hindu man in Bangladesh over alleged blasphemy.
