India has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza following a new wave of Israeli airstrikes. In an official statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) called for the immediate release of all hostages and the continuation of humanitarian assistance to civilians caught in the conflict.

"We are concerned at the situation in Gaza. It is important that all hostages are released. We also call for the supply of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza to be sustained," the MEA stated.

The recent surge in violence comes after the breakdown of a temporary ceasefire that had largely paused hostilities in January and February. With fighting resuming at full scale, Israeli forces have launched airstrikes across Gaza, targeting key locations, including Gaza City, Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and Rafah.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, the strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 400 people, with hundreds more injured, including many children. The rising civilian casualties have drawn international concern, with multiple nations urging de-escalation and renewed diplomatic efforts.

Netanyahu Vows Continued Military Action

Despite growing international pressure, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed that military operations will continue. He has stated that negotiations with Hamas will only take place "under fire," stressing that military pressure is key to securing the release of Israeli hostages.

"Hamas has already felt the strength of our hand in the past 24 hours. And I want to promise you—and them—this is only the beginning," Netanyahu declared in a televised address.

With no signs of an immediate ceasefire, the conflict is expected to intensify, raising fears of an escalating humanitarian crisis. As the situation unfolds, India has reiterated its call for calm, de-escalation, and sustained humanitarian aid to affected civilians.
