The Indian Embassy in Israel has issued a fresh advisory urging Indian nationals in the country to remain vigilant and avoid all non-essential travel, citing the prevailing security situation in the region amid heightened tensions across the Middle East.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv asked Indian citizens to strictly follow safety guidelines and protocols issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. The advisory highlighted the need for heightened caution as regional instability grows, particularly in light of ongoing protests in Iran against the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei-led regime.

“In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indian nationals currently in Israel are advised to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to the safety guidelines and protocols issued by the Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command,” the embassy said. It also advised Indian citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to Israel until further notice.

Non-Essential Travel To Israel Discouraged

The advisory for Israel follows a similar warning issued earlier this week for Indians in Iran, as the security situation there continues to deteriorate. On Wednesday, New Delhi urged all Indian nationals currently in Iran, including students, pilgrims, businesspersons and tourists, to leave the country by available means, including commercial flights. The Indian government also advised citizens to avoid travelling to Iran until the situation stabilises.

Protests in Iran began late last month in Tehran amid a deepening economic crisis, with the Iranian rial plunging to record lows. The demonstrations have since spread across all 31 provinces, with protesters demanding political change and voicing anger against the country’s leadership. Iranian authorities have responded with heavy security deployments and crackdowns.

The Indian Embassy in Iran has reiterated that citizens and persons of Indian origin should exercise due caution, avoid protest areas, stay in close contact with the mission, and monitor local media for updates.

Amid the unrest, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, on Wednesday to discuss the evolving situation in and around Iran. Araghchi also held discussions with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on broader regional and international developments, reflecting growing diplomatic engagement as tensions persist across the region.
