Iran's new military adviser and former Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps commander Mohsen Rezaei, issued a stark warning, declaring that Iran would "paralyse" the United States and "sink" its ships in the Arabian Gulf. Rezaei also seemed to set a "deadline" for US President Donald Trump to take action in order to avoid further escalation.

In a statement reported by Iran's state-run news agency IRNA on Tuesday, Rezaei emphasised, "The final deadlines for saving America are approaching."

Rezaei went on to caution President Trump, noting that there was "not much time left to rescue the United States from this quagmire."

"If you attack the infrastructure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, our response will no longer be an eye for an eye, but rather a head for an eye; we will paralyse you and drown you in the Gulf," Rezaei warned.

Rezaei accused the Israeli regime of deceiving the Trump administration into a conflict based on the aspiration for a "Greater Israel." He suggested that Trump was now caught between the conflicting interests of US military leaders and Israeli desires. Labeling the potential conflict as "illegal," Rezaei insisted that the war with Iran would only end under specific conditions: the removal of all sanctions, compensation for damages, and an international legal guarantee to prevent further aggression against Iran.

Rezaei further said that the US and Israel have over 47 years of enmity towards the Islamic Republic and even helped former dictator Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran. He claimed that since then, the two countries Israel and the US have been hatching plots and conspiracies.

He added that the US had reached the height of its arrogance after issuing threats against Canada and Greenland and conducting operations in Venezuela, which led to the capture of former Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.

Trump Claims US-Iran had 'very good and productive' conversation

Early on Monday morning, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that the US and Iran had held "very good and productive" conversations over the past two days about a "complete and total resolution of hostilities in the Middle East".

"We have had very, very strong talks. We'll see where they lead. We have major points of agreement, I would say, almost all points of agreement. All I'm saying is, we are in the throes of a real possibility of making a deal," he told reporters.

Trump said over the weekend that the US would "obliterate" Iran's power plants unless the country releases its stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of all traded oil passes, within 48 hours, a deadline that would have expired late Monday, Washington time.

By extending the deadline by five days, Trump said the suspension was "subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions." Meanwhile, Tehran’s state-owned Iran newspaper reported that Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied that any talks had taken place.

However, Iranian officials have dismissed the idea of negotiations as "fake news".

Iran's Parliament Speaker On Negotiations To End War

Iran’s parliament speaker has firmly denied that any negotiations have taken place with the United States. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf wrote, "Iranian people demand complete and remorseful punishment of the aggressors. All Iranian officials stand firmly behind their supreme leader and people until this goal is achieved."

He added in a separate post, "No negotiations have been held with the US, and fakenews is used to manipulate the financial and oil markets and escape the quagmire in which the US and Israel are trapped".

Qalibaf’s posts came after US President Donald Trump suggested that Iran was keen to make a deal and that US envoys were in contact with a "respected" Iranian leader.
