Iran Nuclear Test Earthquake: A mysterious earthquake in the central Iranian desert has given rise to speculations about whether Iran conducted a possible nuclear test ahead of the imminent Isareli retaliat. Though the country is prone to earthquakes, the location and timing of the quake fueled speculations with social media abuzz with nuclear bomb theories. The jolt, measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, was experienced on October 5, in the Aradan County in Semnan Province at 10:45 am, the Mehr News Agency reported.
The desert earthquake reportedly originated at a depth of 12 kilometres inside the earth, the Institute of Geophysics of the University of Tehran stated. However, a mild earthquake amid the Middle East tension led a section of people to insinuate that it might have been a result of an Iranian nuke test.
'Seismograph Similar To Detonation Of Nuclear Bomb'
Amid the rife speculations, many social media users posted seismographs of the Iran earthquake, comparing and arguing its striking similarities to vibrations created by the detonation of an atomic bomb. However, no expert has verified these claims as of yet.
The timing of the earthquake also raised apprehensions as Tehran remained at loggerheads with Israel over its war in Gaza and Lebanon. In response to Israel's killing of Hezbollah Chief Nasrallah and a senior IRGC commander, Iran had fired over 180 ballistic missiles at Israel and further warned it of "grave consequences".
Has Iran Built A Nuclear Bomb?
A US-based think tank had, earlier on October 1, reported that Iran can produce nuclear weapons far more rapidly than expected. This was in line with the statement made by a senior Iranian lawmaker who claimed that the Shia-Muslims-dominated country could test a nuclear bomb within one week of receiving an order from the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Earlier in an interview, former Israeli PM Ehud Barak had said that a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities might not work as it is already in a very advanced stage of its nuclear program.
I mean I'm not a seismologist but that graph on the right looks like a test to me. https://t.co/ohSoY4Vhme pic.twitter.com/P0ubXI9iNf

These remarks along with West's long-held accusation against Iran that it is pursuing a military nuclear programme, indicate that Iran is certainly in an advanced stage of developing the bomb of the bombs - the Atomic Bomb.
How Soon Can Iran Make A Functional Atom Bomb?
Earlier reports suggested that Iran has enriched 142.1 kilograms of its Uranium-235 fuel up to 60% - a short and technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%.
"... Iran is a de facto threshold country. They do not have a weapon yet – but it may take them a year to have one, and even half a decade to have a small arsenal,” former Israeli PM Ehud Barak told a news network in an interview on October 1.
