As the Israel-Hamas war approaches its one-year anniversary on October 7, in a significant escalation of tensions in the region, Iran has announced the cancellation of all flights until that date, citing operational concerns. Meanwhile, Israel remains on high alert, urging residents in 19 villages near the southern Lebanon border to evacuate due to potential security threats. These developments come as the situation continues to intensify, with ongoing military actions and rising fears of further conflict in the area.

Thousands, including Palestinian refugees, are fleeing the escalating conflict in Lebanon, as global rallies commemorate the approaching anniversary of the Gaza war. Strong explosions were reported near midnight and continued into Sunday after Israel's military advised residents to evacuate areas in Dahiyeh, a predominantly Shiite suburb of Beirut.

Israeli Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani stated that extra security measures will be implemented across Israel on Monday. He noted Hamas's history of attempting attacks on symbolic dates and mentioned that rockets were fired from Gaza into southern Israel the day before the anniversary. However, he also indicated that the frequency of rocket fire had "dropped dramatically”.
