The war between Iran, the United States and Israel entered its 30th day on Sunday, with no sign of cessation of hostilities in at least a few coming days. During the war, the United States had already suffered significant losses.

Much of the damage to the US has been caused by Iranian ballistic missiles and drone attacks, which have targeted US and allied infrastructure across the Middle East.

What are some major US losses?

Fighter jets and aircrafts: On March 1, three F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft were accidentally shot down by a Kuwaiti F/A-18. All six crew members survived the attack. Each of these aircraft is worth approximately $100 million to the US.

On March 19, an F-35A Lightning II aircraft was also forced to make an emergency landing after Iran claimed it was targeted. The US F-35A aircraft also costs approximately $82.5 million.

Costly defence systems: Iran targeted a US air defence system, an AN/TPY-2 radar located in Jordan, part of a THAAD battery, which was attacked. The damage to this radar system is estimated to cost more than $300 million.

In Qatar, damage was also reported to the AN/FPS-132 radar at Al-Udeid Air Base. This is a highly valuable system that can track multiple threats simultaneously and costs approximately $1 billion.

USS Gerald R Ford: On March 12, a fire broke out aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford, damaging several parts of the aircraft carrier, including its troop accommodations.

The ship is currently in Greece, undergoing repairs. Although the fire incident was reported in a non-combat situation, it was deployed in the Middle East.

AWACS hit: Meanwhile, new reports suggest that Iranian strikes on the US base in Saudi Arabia has damaged an American E-3 Sentry airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft, along with other planes.
