Tesla CEO Elon Musk has recently praised Italy Prime Minister Georgia Meloni during an awards ceremony in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. The picture featuring them has gone viral on social media, sparking intense speculations about whether the two are dating each other.

During an awards ceremony in New York, Musk praised a far-right Italian politician and called her "authentic, honest and truthful". While bestowing the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award on Meloni, Musk said it was an honour to present the accolade to "someone who is even more beautiful on the inside than she was on the outside."

“Giorgia Meloni is someone I admire, who has done an incredible job as the Prime Minister of Italy," Musk said. "She's also authentic, honest, truthful - and that can't always be said about politicians," he further added.

Meloni herself took to her official X account to thank Musk for his remarks.  However, netizens started speculating that both of them were dating each other. One of the X users wrote, “Now that is the kind of international power couple I can get behind.” Another user wrote, “I am totally shipping these two. Perfect”

A Tesla fan club also posted a picture featuring Musk and Meloni and said, "Do you think they'll date?." In response, Musk said, “We are not dating.”

Meloni received the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award for her strong support of the European Union and for becoming the first prime minister of Italy. The X owner and billionaire had earlier met Meloni several times. Musk initially met the Italian PM at her official residence in Rome in June 2023.

Earlier, the internet was flooded with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Meloni memes, portraying romance between the two prime ministers. Several reels also went viral on Instagram featuring the two leaders during the G20 Summit in India. Netizens also created #Melodi- connecting Meloni and Modi.

Earlier in December last year,  Meloni captured a memorable moment with PM Modi at the COP28 summit in Dubai, sharing a selfie that resonated widely on social media.
