As Israel continues its offensive to dismantle Hezbollah's leadership, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that they successfully targeted and killed Suhail Hussein Husseini, the head of Hezbollah's logistics unit, during airstrikes conducted in the Beirut area on Monday. According to the IDF, the operation involved a strike on a compound in Beirut on October 7, resulting in Husseini's death. Hezbollah has not yet issued any immediate response to the IDF's claims.

"The IDF killed Sohil Hossein Hosseini, the head of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation's headquarters. Yesterday, under the precise direction of the Intelligence Division, Air Force fighter jets targeted the Beirut area and killed Sohil Hossein Hosseini, the head of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation's headquarters," IDF said in a post on X.

The military stated that Husseini played a role in transferring advanced weapons from Iran and distributing them to various Hezbollah units, and he was also a member of the group's military council. Additionally, Lebanese state media reported that two more Israeli strikes targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut, noting that Israel had previously issued warnings to residents in the area.

Iran Warns Israel Against Attacks Following Missile Barrage

Iran on Tuesday issued a warning to Israel regarding any potential attacks on the Islamic Republic, following a recent missile barrage fired by Tehran. According to Israeli officials cited by the US news website Axios, Iran's oil facilities could be targeted, representing a significant escalation that could lead to an increase in global oil prices.

President Joe Biden stated that if he were in Israel's position, he would consider alternatives to targeting Iranian oilfields, suggesting that Israel has not yet determined its response to Iran.
