Israel-Iran Tensions LIVE Updates: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday dialled his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian to discuss the release of the 17 Indians onboard Portuguese-flagged cargo vessel MSC Aries, which was seized by the Iranian military near the Strait of Hormuz. After the talks, Iran has said that it will allow Indian government officials to meet the crew members onboard the cargo vessel.

Global airlines continued to face flight disruptions on Monday after Iran's attacks on Israel escalated tensions within the Middle-Eastern region. At least a dozen airlines have had to cancel or reroute flights over the last two days, including Qantas, Germany's Lufthansa, United Airlines and Air India. This was the biggest single disruption to air travel since the attack on the World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001, Reuters reported.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US would not participate in any Israeli counter-offensive against Iran. "We believe Israel has freedom of action to protect itself and defend itself, in Syria or elsewhere. That's a long-standing policy and that remains, but no we would not envision ourselves participating in such a thing," a senior US administration official said, as quoted by Reuters.
