A senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, Abu Musa Kashmiri, has triggered widespread outrage after delivering a speech at a public event in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK), calling for violence against Hindus and claiming the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through terrorism under the guise of “jihad.”

A video of the speech, recorded at a gathering in Bahira village of Hajira tehsil in POJK’s Rawalakot district, has gone viral on social media. In the footage, Kashmiri is seen addressing supporters while slogans from the crowd declare that “freedom will not be achieved by begging; it will be achieved by slitting the throats of Hindus,” drawing sharp condemnation for explicit hate speech and calls for mass violence.

Direct Communication With Pakistani Leadership

During his address, Kashmiri claimed he had personally conveyed his extremist views to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior ministers. Abu Musa Kashmiri is associated with the LeT-linked Jammu Kashmir United Movement (JKUM). Lashkar-e-Taiba, founded in 1985–86, is designated a terrorist organisation by the United Nations, the United States, the United Kingdom, and several other countries. Its primary objective is to merge Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan through violent means. The terror outfit operates training camps, schools, and front organisations, including Jamaat-ud-Dawa, which the UN designated as a LeT affiliate.

Long History Of Terror Attacks

LeT has been responsible for numerous major terror attacks in India, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people. Despite Pakistan officially banning the group in 2002 under international pressure, security experts say LeT continues to operate through training camps and front organisations such as Jamaat-ud-Dawa.

The latest speech comes amid heightened security concerns following the April 2025 Pahalgam massacre, where terrorists reportedly targeted Hindu tourists based on their religious identity.
