Kuwait news: Kuwaiti security agencies have dismantled an illegal medical clinic operating out of a residential apartment in Farwaniya, arresting four Indian nationals and uncovering a wider network involved in the theft and unlawful distribution of government-issued medicines.
The coordinated operation, carried out on the directives of the Ministry of Interior, has brought the total number of arrests in the case to eight.
Secret Clinic, Smuggled Medicines And A High-Stakes Raid
As per local media reports, teams from the Security Directorates Sector and the Criminal Security Sector raided a private flat that had been converted into a 'fake' clinic. Officials said the apartment contained basic medical equipment, supplies, and medicines that were being used to treat patients without any authorisation.
During the raid, four Indians were found inside. They found one man allegedly practicing medicine without a licence, and three others were present as patients seeking treatment. Authorities said the setup posed significant risks to public safety, noting that unregulated medical procedures could endanger lives and compromise the health system.

While probing the operation, investigators discovered that the unlicensed clinic was being supplied with government-issued medicines through an illegal distribution chain. Three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for transporting these medicines to the clinic in exchange for money, as reported by Times Kuwait. Officials said the illegal supply of state-owned medicines not only facilitated the unlicensed treatments but also diverted essential drugs away from public health facilities.
Further inquiries revealed that a Bangladeshi employee at a government health centre was stealing medicines from the facility and selling them to the accused. With his arrest, the total number of suspects reached eight, comprising Indian and Bangladeshi nationals.
Medicines Secured, legal action underway
The Drug Control Department at the Ministry of Health confirmed that all seized medicines have been documented and secured. Legal procedures have begun against every suspect involved in running, supplying or benefiting from the illegal clinic.
Officials stressed that such operations are part of Kuwait’s sustained crackdown on unlicensed medical activity, theft of public resources and violations of healthcare law.
