Kuwait has officially ushered in a new era of digital convenience with the launch of its e-Visa system in July 2025. As part of its ambitious Vision 2035 strategy to diversify the economy and boost tourism, this system aims to modernise and simplify the visa application process for travelers worldwide. Now, visiting Kuwait, whether for tourism, business, family visits, or diplomatic purposes, no longer requires lengthy embassy procedures or cumbersome paperwork.
The new e-Visa platform, launched by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, allows eligible applicants to apply online through a user-friendly portal. By digitising the visa process, Kuwait joins other Gulf nations in enhancing cross-border mobility and embracing digital transformation in public services. The move reflects broader regional goals under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) umbrella to make travel more accessible, efficient, and secure.
This development not only helps streamline immigration procedures but also positions Kuwait as an emerging tourism and business hub in the Middle East.
Four Visa Types Offered Online
To cater to a wide range of travelers, the new e-Visa system offers four main types of entry permits:
Tourist Visa: Ideal for leisure travelers, this visa allows a stay of up to 90 days.
Family Visit Visa: A short-term visa valid for 30 days, designed for those visiting relatives residing in Kuwait.
Business Visa: Also valid for 30 days, suitable for professionals attending conferences, exhibitions, or meetings.
Official Visa: Issued for diplomatic or governmental visits, also with a 30-day validity.
These options provide flexibility for both short and extended visits, whether you are planning a vacation or attending a high-level summit.
How To Apply For Kuwait E-Visa
The application process is straightforward and can be completed in just a few steps:
Access the Portal: Visit the official e-Visa portal provided by Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior.
Choose Your Visa Type: Select from the tourist, family, business, or official categories based on your travel purpose.
Fill Out the Application: Provide personal details, passport information, and expected dates of travel.
