A filmmaker who has worked on projects for NASA suggested that evidence of intelligent alien life may soon be revealed. Simon Holland told The Mirror that astronomers may confirm the existence of extraterrestrial civilisations within the next month. According to him, two separate groups of scientists are competing to publish this groundbreaking discovery.

Simon Holland claims the information was shared by a contact from Mark Zuckerberg's Breakthrough Listen initiative, a private research program focused on finding signs of civilisations beyond Earth.

The filmmaker claimed that evidence of a non-human technological signature was detected using the Parkes telescope in Australia several years ago. The astronomers involved in the Oxford-based project are reportedly finalising their findings before a public announcement, which could come within weeks, the report stated.

However, Holland warned that China’s FAST (Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical Telescope) program, the largest radio telescope in the world, maybe racing to announce a similar discovery. The Chinese allegedly have the coordinates of the object known as BLC-1, which was first detected in April 2019 near Proxima Centauri, a star located 4.2 light-years from Earth.

BLC-1 is considered a strong candidate for extraterrestrial life due to its "single-point source" origin and narrow-band frequency, which contrasts with the broad-spectrum signals typically observed in space. Holland stated that the signal is unlikely to be human interference, as it shows characteristics inconsistent with known natural phenomena. Breakthrough Listen has invested USD 100 million in telescope time to investigate BLC-1 and other potential candidates.

Dr Andrew Siemion, director of the Breakthrough Listen Science Program at Berkeley, confirmed that researchers are still analysing the signal. If further evidence supports the technological origin of BLC-1, the findings could be published soon.

While Holland's claims are generating excitement, it is important to note that there is no conclusive proof of alien life yet. The search for extraterrestrial life has been ongoing for decades, with scientists using advanced telescopes and data analysis to explore the possibility of civilisations beyond Earth.
